Come with us as our informative historian leads us through the National Military Park, commemorating the campaign, siege, and defense of Vicksburg. Our expert guides and park rangers will take you to battlefields, the U.S.S. Cairo gunboat, and the most significant historic places.
A park ranger will guide you through the National Military Park which commemorates the campaign, siege, and defense of Vicksburg in 1863. View the restored ironclad gunboat, USS Cairo, and the battlefield where the Siege of Vicksburg took place. Stop at the impressive Illinois Monument, modeled after the Roman Pantheon. The exploration concludes at the Visitors Center where life-sized exhibits and artifacts from the Siege of Vicksburg are on display.

Longwood is just one of the elegant historic houses that graces the historic district of Natchez. This octagonal house epitomizes the rise and fall of the South. As the Civil War began, the workmen stopped construction and the house was never completed. View the finished first floor with original family furnishings and the upper five stories that are still a work in progress.

Located on the bluffs of the Mississippi River, St. Francisville has been called, “One of the 200 most beautiful small towns in America.” Take a stroll through its historic center where two centuries of architecture and lifestyle are on display. Enjoy visits to restored antebellum mansions including Rosedown.
The affluent ambiance of the Rosedown Plantation is evident the minute you step on the property. As you walk towards the Main House, you will be welcomed by a beautiful flowered path lined with towering oaks. Local guides will regale you with stories of the families who once lived there and give insight into the culture of the South. Roam the picturesque gardens at your leisure, one of the few and largest privately-maintained formal gardens during the 19th century.
Baton Rouge features all the history and wonder you would expect in a state capital, but with an added down-home flavor that makes it truly unique. Housed in a historic railroad depot on the banks of the Mississippi River, the Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) features exhibitions of internationally renowned fine artists, a state-of-the-art planetarium, and an Ancient Egypt gallery. Explore the various galleries that showcase changing fine art exhibitions as well as a permanent collection. In the Ancient Egypt gallery you will find ancient artifacts and a Ptolemaic-era mummy that rests in a re-created rock-cut tomb. The Irene W. Pennington Planetarium features sky shows, large-format films, visual music shows, and galleries devoted to space science.
Once serving as an antebellum sugar cane homestead, Oak Alley Plantation is named after its most distinguishing feature, a row of 300-year-old oak trees. This leafy canopy forms a path leading to the Mississippi River. Restored to its 19th-century grandeur, this classic Greek Revival antebellum mansion is simply breathtaking.
The famous ancient oaks bordering your path to the mansion are your first sight upon stepping ashore. The perfectly aligned 300-year-old trees form a canopy which set a particularly grand entrance for our arrival. Southern belles enjoying the shade of the leafy canopy greet us on arrival and are our guides for the day. In small groups, we bring you through the antebellum plantation’s many stately rooms and show you why it has earned the name “Grande Dame of The Great River Road.” After the tour, join us for a special gathering with mint juleps on the west lawn before a visit to their popular gift shop which is known for its world-famous pralines.

Arrive in two days before your Memphis to New Orleans Cruise and enjoy an extended stay at the world-class Graceland Guest House, just steps away from the most renowned musical attraction of the world. The evening of your arrival, we will escort you to a private Welcoming Reception in The Jungle Room Bar at the Graceland Exhibition Center. Arrive the day before your Memphis to New Orleans Cruise and enjoy a 1-night premium hotel stay in at the Graceland Guest House. Take a complimentary shuttle to downtown and explore the city at your leisure. Be sure to visit the legendary Beale Street, where live music fills the air 7 days a week.
On the morning of the cruise, meet in the hotel lobby after breakfast and we will transport you to the ship to begin your cruise. All luggage will be brought directly from the hotel and placed in your stateroom aboard the ship.

Cruises depart at 1:30 p.m. or earlier if all passengers have arrived. Passengers may board after 11:30 a.m. Crew members will carry your luggage to your stateroom. Passengers are recommended to arrive no later than 12:30 p.m
Every American Cruise Lines shore excursion falls into one of three categories: 1) FEATURED shore excursions are complimentary. Featured excursions are selected excursions which typically are offered daily on Columbia & Snake River, Mississippi River, and Alaska Cruises. 2) PREMIUM shore excursions typically cost between $20 and $70 and may be purchased on board with your Hotel Manager. 3) SIGNATURE shore excursions are particularly unique excursions with limited availability and which often cost more than $70. We recommend that you reserve these excursions in advance with your Cruise Specialist.
Single cabins are available on all ships. If one person chooses to occupy a double stateroom he/she will be charged 150% or 175% of the double occupancy rate depending on the type of stateroom occupied.
A deposit of $500.00 per person is required to confirm any reservation on trips of 9 nights or less, and a deposit of $900.00 per person is required to confirm any reservation on trips of 10 nights or more. Final payment is due 90 days prior to the sailing date. Any Reservation made within 90 days of the departure date must be accompanied by full payment and is subject to Cancellation Terms.
Casual sportswear is suggested during the day. Casual country club attire is recommended in the evenings and for dinner. Comfortable walking shoes, windbreaker, sweater for cool evenings, and light rainwear are also recommended items.

Cruises depart at 1:30 p.m. or earlier if all passengers have arrived. Passengers may board after 11:30 a.m. Crew members will carry your luggage to your stateroom. Passengers are recommended to arrive no later than 12:30 p.m
Every American Cruise Lines shore excursion falls into one of three categories: 1) FEATURED shore excursions are complimentary. Featured excursions are selected excursions which typically are offered daily on Columbia & Snake River, Mississippi River, and Alaska Cruises. 2) PREMIUM shore excursions typically cost between $20 and $70 and may be purchased on board with your Hotel Manager. 3) SIGNATURE shore excursions are particularly unique excursions with limited availability and which often cost more than $70. We recommend that you reserve these excursions in advance with your Cruise Specialist.
Single cabins are available on all ships. If one person chooses to occupy a double stateroom he/she will be charged 150% or 175% of the double occupancy rate depending on the type of stateroom occupied.
A deposit of $500.00 per person is required to confirm any reservation on trips of 9 nights or less, and a deposit of $900.00 per person is required to confirm any reservation on trips of 10 nights or more. Final payment is due 90 days prior to the sailing date. Any Reservation made within 90 days of the departure date must be accompanied by full payment and is subject to Cancellation Terms.
Casual sportswear is suggested during the day. Casual country club attire is recommended in the evenings and for dinner. Comfortable walking shoes, windbreaker, sweater for cool evenings, and light rainwear are also recommended items.
With a capacity of just 190 guests, American Harmony has the modern amenities and contemporary styling that today’s traveler has come to expect. Featured are expansive lounges with large glass windows, offering astounding views. This new ship also features a five-story, glass-enclosed atrium with a large domed skylight, which serves as the central gathering point for the entire ship.
