Visit of baroque Melk Abbey & mulled wine party
This morning we arrive at Melk/Emmersdorf. The Wachau region was declared a World Natural Heritage region by UNESCO. Join an excursion to Melk Abbey and Dürnstein. At the end of the excursion, join us for a mug of warming glühwein.
The rest of the day is spent on board, where you will have a wonderful view of the passing winter landscapes as your cruise ship travels towards Passau.
Tour St. Stephen's Cathedral
During breakfast, we arrive in Passau, also known as the “City of Three Rivers”. Passau is situated at the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz Rivers.
In the morning, we enjoy the romantic old town with its historic buildings.
The afternoon is a perfect time to visit the traditional Passau Christmas market.
Early this evening your ship will depart this lovely city and head towards Regensburg.
Christmas market in the royal Thurn & Taxis Castle
A full day is spent in festively adorned, historic Regensburg. This magical destination where time seems to stand still, is best explored during a morning optional guided sightseeing walk.
After lunch, explore on your own or opt to join an excursion to the Christmas market in the royal Thurn and Taxis Castle. Revel in the festive pre-Christmas atmosphere filled with the aroma of lebkuchen (gingerbread) and roasted almonds, and stalls filled with local handicrafts.
The captain invites you to join him at an elegant Gala Dinner onboard, while your ship continues its journey later this evening.
Famous Christmas market in Nuremberg
After lunch, you arrive in the Bavarian town of Roth, where the city tour of Nuremberg starts. The tour will take you to the most significant monuments and sights in picturesque Nuremberg.
Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the romantic Christmas market and taste the world-famous Nuremberg lebkuchen (gingerbread) before returning to your ship.

The Amadeus Queen sails along on the Danube, Rhine and Main rivers. She also sails the Dutch and Belgian Waterways. There are spacious public areas and cabins.
Twelve large suites impress with an outdoor balcony and a cozy reading corner. The sixty nine standard cabins mainly have panoramic window fronts which can be automatically lowered and luxurious bathrooms.
A new highlight is the indoor pool, with a roof that can open in fine weather. In the evenings, this area may also be used for informative talks, functions and cinema showings.
The Passau Christmas market is set in the backdrop of St Stephen's Cathedral in the old Baroque heart of this town. You will find wooden carvings and leather goods, jewelry and festive gifts, as well as hand crafted Christmas ornaments. One of the delights in Passau in December is to follow the Nativity Path (Krippenweg) to see the various nativity scenes.

These well-loved figures are made partially from prunes! More than 350 different figures are available, not for consumption, they make a unique souvenir that needs little care and will amuse for years to come.
