Designed and built in 2019 to become the most state-of-the-art river boat to sail the Amazon, Aqua Nera will present guests with a luxuriously-appointed interior inspired by her surroundings. The blackwater lagoons and tributaries of the Amazon river and Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve.
The 20 spacious river-facing suites will convey a welcoming and stylish sense of Amazonian tranquillity. Aqua Nera will also feature comprehensive amenities including an indoor lounge and bar, as well as a river-facing plunge pool and gym. The partnership with award-winning Peruvian chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino will continue on board the Aqua Nera.
Let the plunge pool’s cool soothing waters take the edge off Amazonian heat after a jungle or skiff excursion. Located at the bow, the outdoor pool is well shielded from the elements with a canopy. Guests are in a commanding position to soak in the majestic panoramic vista of the Peruvian Amazon.
There are indoor and outdoor bars and indoor and outdoor dining areas. We also have an indoor and outdoor cinema areas. You can relax in the lobby lounge and outdoor shaded lounge or take in the views on the observation deck. The ship is complete with a library/ games room, fully equipped gym, spa and boutique for little treasures. On board are ten bicycles and kayaks.

Schiaffino has earned global recognition, including from The Diners Club® World’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy. He is famous for his innovative Amazonia-influenced cuisine, served at Malabar and Amaz.
Schiaffino says around 70% of all ingredients on board are sourced in the waters and rainforest surrounding our journey, but guests may rest assured that dishes also stay true to more accessible indigenous traditions like Peruvian ceviche, with its succulent tranches of just caught river fish, juicy onions, cilantro, coriander and corn kernels the size of South Sea pearls.
Venture into the Amazon jungle from the Aqua Nera showcase the unique Amazon wildlife, birds and plant life of this rich habitat. Our customized aluminum motorized launch boats, or skiffs, take up to ten passengers in each on two to three daily excursions deep into Amazonia’s snaking tributaries, in search of armored catfish, red bellied piranhas, and the beady-eyed heads of spectacled caimans in the enigmatic black waters.
Just as captivating is the scene above water where yellow spotted Amazon River turtles meander along the muddy shoreline, sapphire blue beaked Amazon kingfishers streak past and antediluvian prehistoric hoatzin birds alight on high branches near dusky Titi monkeys playing in the tree canopy.
Your accommodation is on the most luxurious ship in the Amazon. It features premium fittings and bedding, as well as full air-conditioning and full-length windows to admire the endlessly enthralling panorama of the Amazon river and rainforest. All individual suites measure 322 square feet (30 sqm), inclusive of ensuite bathroom and closet space.
