Dubrovnik Panorama, Croatia

Welcome to this wonderful tour and cruise program combining Croatia’s magnificent Dalmatian Coast with the glorious Alpine beauty of Slovenia’s Lake Bled. The small and intimate MS “Arion” (maximum 280 passengers), while not luxurious, is the perfect choice to explore smaller and less visited ports like Zadar, Kotor and Ploce where bigger ships cannot dock.

2006 ITINERARY:

Day 1 Transfer TO RIJEKA Embarkation after 4 p.m.
Upon arrival to either Ljubljana (Slovenia) or Zagreb (Croatia) airport , transfer to the Croatian port town of Rijeka where the MS Arion is docked. If you have some free time, explore the bustling harbor town which is famous for its carnival and the vivid Korzo promenade before you meet your fellow travelers at your first onboard dinner. Evening welcome cocktail will precede dinner. (D)

Day 2 PULA
Located on the opposite side of the bay from Rijeka, you will dock at Pula early this morning. This city, famous for its manifold World Heritage Sites, is considered one of the most stunning towns in the Istria region. During your morning tour, you will visit the impressive Roman amphitheatre, the Temple of Augustus, the Golden Gate (Porta Aurea), and the Triumphal Arch. In the afternoon, you will have free time to explore on your own or purchase additional optional shore excursions which will immerse you into the beauty and history of the Istria region to a greater extent. (B, L, D)

Day 3 ZADAR

The second largest city in Croatia, Split gradually developed around the Palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian, built more than 1700 years ago. Visit Diocletian’s cellars, the Cathedral of the Temple of Jupiter, then continue to the Golden Gate (Porta Aurea), across the Peristyle and the Market (Pjaca) to the sunny sea promenade (Riva). In the afternoon, enjoy a tour of the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo; the historic town of Korcula, with its beautiful center, narrow cobblestone streets, cafés, museums and churches.
