2017 PROGRAM

Day 1 - Passau
Check in starts at 4pm , departure at 6 pm. Welcome Cocktail and Welcome dinner on board. Sail toward Vienna. Optional airport transfer from Munich airport to Passau ship can be requested.

Day 2  VIENNA
Arrival in Vienna at 2 pm. Enjoy this city  of music with specialties like Sachertorte and Heuriger (new wine) that are just as famous as St. Stephen's Cathedral and the Imperial Palace. You can see Vienna’s most important sights on our sightseeing tour or explore this historic city on your own. Depart Vienna at 6:30pm toward Esztergom.

Day 3  ESZTERGOM-BUDAPEST
Early morning arrival in Esztergom. Take part in our Esztergom-Szentendre excursion by coach. Esztergom is the former residence of the kings of Hungary and seat of the Archbishop, is one of the highlights of this excursion. After visiting its impressive cathedral, Hungary's largest place of worship at the Danube Bend, we continue along the bank of the Danube to the artists village of Szentendre. After a stroll through this picturesque place the excursion continues to Budapest, where you rejoin the ship at midday.

Day 4 - BELGRADE
Early afternoon arrival at Belgrade  the capital of Serbia, and enjoy a panoramic tour of the city, that includes the Kalemegdan Fortress and the Serbian Orthodox Temple of St. Sava. We leave at 7 pm. crossing over to Bulgaria.

Day 5 - VIDIN
arrival at Vidin, the Bulgarian port near the borders Serbia and Romania. Excursion to Belogradchik famous for its fortress and impressive rock formations at the foothills of Balkan mountains that also served as protections from invaders during the ages. Continue sailing east at 6: 30 p.m.

Day 6 - OLTENITA - BUCHAREST
Arrival after lunch at Romanian port of Oltenita where the Arges river reaches the Danube. From here you can join the excursion to Bucharest, capital of Romania sometimes called the "Paris of the East" with its dynamic nature and elegant 19 century buildings. See the monstrous Parliament building testament to the megalomania of a once powerful dictator, the Arch of Triumph and the Victory Avenue and Revolution square. After the Bucharest visit we join the ship again at Fetesi and continue sailing towards the Danube Delta in the evening.

Day 7  DANUBE DELTA
Cruising trough the George passage reach the Danube Delta, the second largest river delta in Europe, a natural wildlife reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its protected and well preserved condition. At 2 p.m. Delta safari by boat that can only be booked on the ship to reach Danube 0 km and the Black Sea shore. Walk on the beach of the Black Sea Coast and visit a fishermen village. Return to the ship for dinner.

Day 8 HIRSOVA - CONSTANCA
Today we can visit Constanca, Romania's largest port at the Black Sea resort and the oldest inhabited city on Romania founded by Greeks. We rejoin the ships at Fratesi in the evening and continue sailing toward Bulgaria.

Day 9 ROUSSE -VELIKO TURNOVO
Arrive at Rousse in the morning at a town well known in the East for its European style 19th century buildings of New Baroque. From Rousse take part of the optional excursion to Veliko Turnovo, former capital of the Bulgarian Kingdom. Rejoin. At Shistov then continue sailing north towards the famous Iron Gates.

Day 10. IRON GATES
Today, enjoy a full day of cruising through one of Europe's most awe-inspiring natural wonders, the Iron Gates. Here the Danube narrows as it winds through a series of magnificent gorges between Serbia and Romania. The banks of the river along this natural border are lined with sheer-faced rocks that stretch high overhead, a sight that will be an unforgettable highlight of your Black Sea adventure.

Day 11 NOVI SAD
Arrival Novi Sad, in today's Serbia. City tour with visit to Sremski Karlovci, a charming town and important Serbian religious center in a wine growing area. Rejoin the ship at Novi Sad. Continue upstream to Vukovar arriving at 7 p.m. Short tor then continue towards Hungary on the north.

Day 12 - MOHACS - KALOCSA - PUSZTA
Morning arrival in Mohacs, 8 a.m. After breakfast walking tour then optional excursion to the great Hungarian Plains (Puszta) famous for its horsemanship and Kalocsa, the center of  red gold (paprika) growing as well as colorful sought after embroidery.  Rejoin the ship in Kalocsa after. Ship arrives in Kalocsa at 7 pm and shortly after departs upstream to Budapest.

Budapest is a city made up of two parts: Buda and Pest, built on opposite banks of the Danube. Buda, with its cobbled streets and medieval architecture, is the older and more graceful part while Pest, with its wide avenues and impressive 19th-century public buildings, is the administrative and commercial center. East meets West in this fascinating city, which has an amazing variety of shops and restaurants.

Day 13 BUDAPEST
This morning join a city tour of the Budapest called the Spa capital of Europe due to its several hot springs and curative spa hotels. See the important site in both Buda and Pest or look around in the city on your own. There is an optional afternoon excursion to Godollo castle, the charming royal "cottage" given to the Hapsburgs by the Hungarian nation. In the evening cruise along the  magnificently floodlit buildings of Budapest on both sides of the river and under the illuminated chain bridge. There will also be a performance by a Hungarian folklore group on board.

Day 14 - Arrival at 3 p.m. at Bratislava, capital lf Slovakia where you can join an other city tour. Today enjoy the Captain's Gala dinner accompanied by the ship's musicians.

Day 15 - Arrival at 9 am in Durnstein and take part in the optional Wachau Valley and the magnificent Baroque Melk Abbey excursion combined with wine tasting after. Rejoin the ship in Emmersdorf at 1pm , then continue forward Passau, our departure point 14 days ago.

Day 16 Arrival in Passau at 8:30 am and disembarkation after breakfast. Check out other Danube cruises starting in Passau

Cabin Description:
All cabins have two lower beds that can be linked together or set up separately upon request. The cabins on the Haydn- Deck have fixed windows while the cabins on the Strauss-Deck have large panoramic windows which can be opened. The cabins on the Mozart-Deck have large glass doors that stretch right across the width of the cabin (allowing them to be described as having French Balconies). Cabins 206 and 204 on the Strauss-Deck have round, fixed panoramic windows.

MS Amadeus Royal and Brilliant ship description

Transfer from Munich airport to Passau port (or v.v.) Euro 59 per person each way - advance reservation required

Transfer from Passau railway station: Euro 20 per person per direction

SMS - Salzburger Mietwagen und Reise Service GmbH carries out the transfers.
When you land at Munich airport, please go to the SMS desk set up for you in each terminal. This is your meeting point, where your driver will be waiting for you on your arrival.
You may always rely on SMS airport transfers, even if your flight has been delayed. In the event of delay, your driver will either wait for you or re-book you on the next suitable transfer.
The maximum possible waiting time after reporting to the desk would be 90 minutes.
All transfers are carried out in groups. We therefore ask for your understanding if your transfer leaves somewhat later than planned owing to a flight delay or the loss of someone luggage. We will, of course, ensure that any waiting times are kept as short as possible.
Please also note that transfers can only be booked for flights having scheduled arrival times up to 1.00 p.m.
For the return transfer to Munich you will be picked up in Passau according to your scheduled departure time but, at the latest, by 09.30 a.m.
