ITINERARY - BASEL - AMSTERDAM
Day 1
Afternoon embarkation starts at 4 pm and ship leaves Basel at 5 pm. While cruising on the scenic Rhine enjoy a cocktail reception before dinner is served on board.
Day 2
Morning arrival in Strasbourg, the ancient capital of Alsace and one of Europe’s most attractive cities. After breakfast, take a guided tour (Euro 51) of the city. See the European Parliament building (inside visit ).  Strasbourg is definitely well worth visiting for the combination of its history, its cuisine and its unique atmosphere.
In the afternoon there’ll be our “Alsace and wine” (Euro 53) excursion, during which you’ll drive through the picturesque landscape and romantic wine villages along parts of the famous Alsace wine route. The tour includes a visit to a vineyard and a wine tasting session. Those on the excursion return to Strasbourg for dinner, after which the ship departs towards Speyer.
Day 3
Morning arrival  in Speyer, the old imperial city on the Rhine with impressive facades of various styles, winding alleys and romantic squares. The guided walk (Euro 15) includes a visit to its impressive cathedral. During lunch cruise on to Mannheim, which is situated at the confluence of the Rhine and the Neckar. Its main street leads to an enormous 18th-century palace, formerly the seat of the Electors of the Palatinate but now housing the University of Mannheim.  Choose to do a city tour of Heidelberg (Euro 46), home to Germany’s oldest university, and the castle ruin overlooking the Neckar River. Departure from Mannheim after midnight and continue towards Rüdesheim.
Day 4
During the walking tour visit this charming old wine town with long narrow street, lined on both sides with wine taverns, which is very popular with tourists. Also including a visit to Siegfried’s Music Museum, where all kinds of mechanical musical instruments from barrel organs and music boxes to horn gramophones are displayed. Depart Rüdesheim at noon and cruises probably the most famous and scenic stretch of the Rhine valley, passing hilltop castles, terraced vineyards and attractive waterside villages. During the afternoon arrive at the Lorelei Rock, which is the symbol of this great river and inspired the poem by Heinrich Heine. Musical tea party on board. In the afternoon arrive at Coblenz, at the Rhine and the Moselle. Optional walking tour (Euro 15) of Coblenz.
Day 5
Early in the morning depart and arrive in Cochem at noon. In the afternoon you can take a walking tour (Euro 37) through this quaint small town with its fine medieval town gate and market place. Also visit to a tavern for a wine
tasting session. In the late afternoon the vessel leaves Cochem.
Day 6
In the morning ship reaches Cologne . Optional city walk (Euro 17) of the 2000 year old settlement of Cologne which was founded on the orders of the Roman Emperor Claudius. You’ll see Cologne’s most important sights, namely its central old quarter, the cathedral, the town hall, the Guerzenich, the city walls and gate, churches and historic squares. From the bank of the Rhine there’s a fine view of the entire old quarter after which you visit the cathedral, which is Cologne’s icon and Germany’s largest cathedral (depends on the opening hours of the Cathedral and / or if a mass is celebrated etc.).  After lunch you have time to explore the city on your own before the vessel leaves Cologne in the afternoon.
Enjoy the Captains Gala dinner and the splendid ship’s orchestra, which has been entertaining you in the bar throughout the cruise, will do its best to persuade you to take a turn on the dance floor.
Day 7
During breakfast the ship will be moored in the little Dutch village of Utrecht. Our ”Holland
Waterland and city tour Amsterdam“ (Euro  54) excursion starts here. We will first stop in Volendam where we will have a short stroll through the city before boarding the coach again and driving out through the countryside to Edam and visiting a dairy specializing in local Dutch cheeses. Finally we reach Amsterdam, the capital of The Netherlands. There’ll be a drive past the city’s most important buildings and monuments and you’ll learn much about its vivid history before enjoying the very popular attraction of cruising through its canals.
Day 8
Disembarkation after breakfast in Amsterdam. End of the cruise.

ITINERARY - AMSTERDAM TO BASEL
Day 1
Embarkation in Amsterdam starts at 4pm. Enjoy a welcome cocktail party before dinner is served on board. The ship remains moored overnight in Amsterdam.
Day 2
In the morning join our optional city tour of Amsterdam (Euro 54), the capital of the Netherlands, or choose to explore this interesting and lively city on your own. During the city tour you’ll drive past the city’s most important buildings and monuments and learn much about its vivid history
before enjoying the very popular attraction of cruising through its canals.
During the tour you will stop in Edam and visit a dairy specializing in local Dutch cheeses. Afterwards you will stroll through the little town of Volendam before boarding the coach again and driving to Utrecht where your vessel already awaits you and the cruise continues into Germany.
Day 3
After lunch
arrive in Cologne. Passengers may join our city walk (Euro 17) of the former settlement of Colonia, which was founded on the orders of the Roman Emperor, Claudius, over 2,000 years ago. You’ll see Cologne’s most important sights, old quarter, the
cathedral, the town hall, the Guerzenich, the city walls and gate, churches and historic squares. From
the bank of the Rhine there’s a fine view of the entire old quarter after which you visit the cathedral, which is Cologne’s icon and Germany’s largest cathedral (depends on the opening hours of the Cathedral and / or if a mass is celebrated etc.). Its art treasures include a shrine housing the relics of
the 3 holy kings. The
ship leaves Cologne after dinner.
Day 3
During the famous Rhine in Flames fireworks (May 2 & Sep 18 departure)
We spend the day at leisure, cruising by some well known cities like Düsseldorf and Cologne before reaching St. Goarshausen in the evening.
This evening you will be part of the spectacular event “Rhine in Flames”. This show will be a real highlight of the cruise!
After the show your vessel will set sail for Bonn.

Day 4
During the morning while cruising enjoy the beautiful Rhine valley scenery. The ship arrives in Cochem after lunch, a quaint small town through which a walking tour (Euro 37) can be taken. This includes, among other sights, Cochem’s fine medieval town gate and market place and a visit to a tavern for a wine tasting session. Then it’s back to the ship for dinner and an evening departure.
Day 4
During the famous Rhine in Flames fireworks
During breakfast you arrive in the German city of Bonn. From here you can start your excursion to Cologne (
Euro 17). After the tour the bus brings you back to Coblenz where your vessel already awaits you. After lunch a walking tour (Euro 15) of Coblenz.
The vessel leaves Coblenz after dinner.
Day 5
Morning arrival in Coblenz at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle. Join an optional walking tour (Euro 15) and see the highlights of this 2000-year old city, surrounded by picturesque riverside scenery and backed by four low mountain ranges. Its abundance of cultural monuments and historic buildings, its narrow lanes and alleyways, and the relaxed and happy atmosphere of its squares and river promenades make
Coblenz a friendly place where tourists feel right at home.
This afternoon you cruise through the glorious central stretch of the Rhine valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, passing charming villages, many castles and the legendary Lorelei Rock. Before dinner, the vessel arrives in picturesque Rüdesheim, where you can spend a pleasant evening in the town’s Drosselgasse, a pedestrian street lined with shops and taverns. There’ll be walking tour of the town (Euro 23) including a visit to Siegfried’s Music Museum, where all kinds of mechanical
musical instruments from barrel organs and music boxes to horn gramophones are displayed. The
ship sails from Rüdesheim in the late evening.
Day 6
Morning arrival at Mannheim, which is situated at the confluence of the Rhine and the Neckar. Its main street leads to an enormous 18th-century palace, formerly the seat of the Electors of the Palatinate but now housing the University of Mannheim. This morning you can do a city tour of Heidelberg (Euro 46). Heidelberg, home to Germany’s oldest university, was
founded in 1386. Our guided tour features a visit to the city’s imposing castle
ruin overlooking the Neckar River and a walking tour through the historic old quarter and the market place.
We return to the ship for lunch and cruise on to Speyer during the afternoon. This old imperial city
on the Rhine has had a rich and turbulent past. Religious architecture steeped in history, impressive facades of various styles, winding alleys and romantic squares characterize it. The guided walk (Euro 15) includes a look at the old city gate and the Jewish baths. In the evening the vessel heads off towards
France. On this penultimate evening of your cruise the captain welcomes all the passengers to a
special dinner and the splendid ship’s orchestra, which has been entertaining you in the bar throughout the cruise, will do its best to persuade you to take a turn on the dance floor.
Day 7
Arrive in Strasbourg, the Unesco World Heritage site in the morning. The ancient capital of Alsace and one of Europe’s most attractive cities. After breakfast, join an optional city tour (Euro 51) . See the European Parliament building and enjoy a guided tour of the inside of the vast and famous cathedral (which features carvings as delicate as any piece of lacework).  Strasbourg is definitely well worth visiting for the combination of its history, its cuisine and its unique atmosphere. During lunch the ship departs upstream to Basel.
Day 8
Arrival in Basel in the morning. Disembarkation after breakfast. End of the cruise.
