ITINERARY
Day 1
Embarkation starts at 4 in the afternoon. Enjoy a welcome cocktail party before dinner. The ship remains moored overnight in Amsterdam.
Amsterdam is a paradise for the art and culture lovers with its extensive choice of museums and places of international interest and one of the city's greatest attraction is cruising through its canals.. Our sightseeing tour (Euro 44)  will cover the major sights and a canal cruise.
The ship leaves Amsterdam at noon and crosses over the "IJsselmeer" to the little fishing town of
Volendam. Volendam is one of the prettiest places in northern Holland, having been a major fishing
port. The town’s main street is lined with cafs and shops, some of whose staff still wear traditional costumes. Our ”Holland Waterland“ (Euro 39) excursion starts here with a short stroll through the town before boarding a coach and driving out of Volendam into the countryside to visit a farm specializing in local Dutch cheeses. On the way back to Volendam there’ll be a short walk through the quaint village of Edam, the cheese name which known well all over the world. The vessel leaves Volendam before midnight.
Day 3
Arrive in Arnhem at noon and choose between two excursions. On the “Arnhem and the Open Air Museum” (Euro  52) excursion you drive through the town of Arnhem, where the World War II “Market Garden” parachute landings and the battle for the bridge took place, giving the town a melancholy fame. Then continue to an Open Air Museum, located in beautiful scenery on the town’s outskirts. This
museum displays more than 80 historic houses, farmhouses and mills from all over the Netherlands.
Alternatively you can take the “Arnhem & World War II History” (Euro 52) excursion, which also includes a tour of the town and a visit of the Hartenstein Airborne Museum. In the evening the cruise
leaves to Middelburg.
Day 4
Arrive in Middelburg at noon, the capital of the Dutch province Zeeland. A town seriously
damaged during the Second World War, dominated by the 55-metre high belfry of the medieval town hall. In Middelburg there is a deep In the afternoon you can choose between 2 excursions. The walking tour
(Euro 15) of Middelburg and enjoy the medieval atmosphere of this town or an other excursion (Euro 76) takes you to the Deltaworks project located at Neeltje Jans. This is an amazing example of how the Dutch have truly tamed the environment in which they live. Afterwards make a stop at the lovely town of Veere the  trading port in the middle ages. Today Veere is a favorite spot for visitors as it is one of the most picturesque towns in the area. During dinner leave Middelburg.
Day 5
Arrive in  Ghent in the early morning. The  important port and centre of the textile industry since the middle Ages. The old town centre has retained its medieval
charm and contains many historic buildings. During the optional city tour (Euro 36) visit the old town cnetre with its medieval charm and its historic buildings.
In the afternoon join the optional Bruges sightseeing tour (Euro 35) is like a journey back in time to medieval Flanders. The old craft of the "bobbin" – a skill that has become very rare - has been cultivated in the "Beginenhof" in Bruges since the middle of the 13th century. You will see the "Pulverturm", the town
hall with its wonderful facade, and a Madonna by Michelangelo in the magnificent "Liebfrauenkirche". Later this afternoon there’s time to explore Ghent on your own, before the ship casts off again.
Day 6
Early morning the ship docks in Antwerp, the second-largest city in Belgium and one of
the biggest ports in Europe. It was a great centre for the arts in the Renaissance period, and Rubens
both lived and worked here. Some of his masterpieces can be seen in the massive Gothic cathedral.
The main square of Antwerp, the Grote Markt, is surrounded by fine Renaissance buildings including
the 16th-century town hall. During the city tour (Euro 36) discover some details. Over recent years traffic has been banned from much of the city centre, and trams have been diverted into subways, making it a most pleasant city for strolling and shopping. There’s plenty of time in the afternoon to explore this city on your own or to join our Brussels excursion (Euro  35) to the Belgian capital, where you can photograph the famous "Mannekin Pis".
Join the Capitains Gala dinner and the splendid ship’s orchestra, which has been entertaining you in the Panorama bar throughout the cruise.
Day 7
Arrive in Kinderdijk in the morning. On the city walk of Kinderdijk (Euro 30) you’ll see Holland’s
largest concentration of working windmills. Before lunch the cruise continues to Utrecht, where the
ship moors in the early afternoon. Here you can take our Keukenhof (Euro 70) excursion. Keukenhof’s
flower displays consist of millions of flowers displayed to artistic perfection in the most
beautiful park. Nowhere else in the world are spring flowers and colors as glorious as they are at
Keukenhof. Its beautiful parks offer relaxation and inspiration in equal measure. In addition to the
millions of flowers growing or in arrangements, Keukenhof has the largest sculpture park in the
Netherlands and is one of the most photographed places in the world. Those who have been on this
excursion rejoin the ship in Amsterdam, where it stays moored overnight.
